Tell It Animated Fan Idea: The Evolution of Bowser
I'm a huge fan of the Tell It Animated video series on YouTube, which discusses how designs of popular characters in sci-fi, horror, comic book-inspired cinema, and video games have changed in appearance over time. This is my fan idea for the King of the Koopas! For as long as Nintendo superstar plumbers Mario and Luigi have fought to save the day in the world of the Mushroom Kingdom, they’ve had to face Bowser: the dastardly King of the Koopa turtle tribe, infatuated with Princess Peach, whom he constantly kidnaps as part of his vaguely-defined plans for domination and/or destruction. But how did this unique hybrid of a turtle and a fire-breathing dragon come to look how he does today? Originally, Super Mario creator Shigeru Miyamoto wanted to make Bowser an ox, inspired by the evil King Gruesome of the musical adventure anime movie Alakazam the Great. However, his longtime friend and coding specialist Takashi Tezuka told him Bowser looked more like a turtle. In fact
Both Sides Now
Hello, watchers! I have decided to return to full in DeviantArt for a specific reason. Contrary to a certain man’s claims that I would never experience actual love, over the past week, I finally did for the first time in my life. But there was one problem: it was too much love all at once. Without publicly naming this woman to protect us both from unwelcome attention, I will explain exactly what happened. I met this woman my age, maybe a couple of years older, in a social group I joined to establish a more balanced life outside the Internet. She had competed in a variety of Highland games since high school despite not being of Scottish ancestry herself. In fact, she wasn’t born in America, but I’m not going to publicly name her country of origin, again in the interest of protecting her privacy. When she asked if I knew what the hammer throw was, I happily chimed in, “Know it? My people invented it!” We had a good conversation, and I suppose, at some point while I was using
My One Christmas Wish
It sure was fun posting all those Christmas photos mere moments ago. But now, it's time to declare my one Christmas wish. And I wish for peace of mind. For the past four and a half years, I've been honestly frightened to post anything. No matter how much I try to ignore a certain group of trolls, they keep lurking in the background and finding excuses to twist my words and invent new reasons to treat me like a lump of coal for thinking differently. The stated reason they don't quit if ignored, unlike other trolls, is their collective belief that anything they can determine to be a slight must not be left unattended. Maybe they don't watch me all the time, but they watch me enough that they always seem to respond very quickly to my writing anything that rubs them the wrong way. I can't go on like this, especially not at Christmas. Their continuously keeping my name in their mouths has caused me so much stress that it's strained my relationships with friends and with family, the
